ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the Techstream on.
(c) Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode).

(d) Start the engine.
(e) Warm up the engine.
(f) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT Linear (Bank1).

(g) Check the engine speed while operating the Oil Control Valve (OCV) using the Techstream.
Standard Condition:
Control Range | Specified Condition |
0% | Normal engine speed |
100% | Soon after OCV switched from OFF to ON, engine idles roughly or stalls |
If the operation is not as specified, check the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly, wire harness and ECM.
