ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
CAUTION:
Be sure to follow the correct removal and installation procedures of the front seat cushion airbag assembly RH.
HINT:
-
Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)
(a) Perform a diagnostic system check.

(b) Visually check for defects with the front seat cushion airbag assembly RH installed on the vehicle.
(1) The defects are as follows:
-
Cuts on the front seat cushion assembly around the front seat cushion airbag assembly RH
-
Small cracks on the front seat cushion assembly around the front seat cushion airbag assembly RH
-
Significant discoloration on the front seat cushion assembly around the front seat cushion airbag assembly RH
OK:
No defects are found.
HINT:
If any of the defects is found, replace the separate type front seat cushion cover or separate type front seat cushion pad with a new one.
2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag not Deployed)
(a) Perform a diagnostic system check.

(b) Visually check for defects with the front seat cushion airbag assembly RH removed from the vehicle.
(1) The defects are as follows:
-
Make sure that there are no broken or frayed threads, or scratches on the surface of the base fabric of the front seat cushion airbag assembly RH
-
Marks from being dropped
-
Deformation on the installation part of the front seat cushion airbag assembly RH
-
Cracks or other damage to the wire harness or connector
OK:
No defects are found.
HINT:
If any of the defects is found, replace the front seat cushion airbag assembly RH with a new one.

Centering bolts are used to mount the hood hinge to the vehicle body and hood. The hood cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts for standard bolts (with washers) when making adjustments.
