Lexus NX: Operation Check

OPERATION CHECK

INSPECT ASC SYSTEM OPERATION

CAUTION:

Check for safety before performing any tests.

HINT:

When the drive mode changes to a mode other than NORMAL, SPORT or CUSTOMIZE*, the simulated engine sound stops.

*: Customize mode refers to when the following conditions are set on the multi-display customize setting screen. [Setup]→[Vehicle]→[Drive Mode Customization]→[Powertrain]→[Power] or [Normal]

(a) Idling sound inspection (except CUSTOMIZE mode)

(1) Turn the power switch on (READY).

(2) Turn the vehicle sound switch on.

(3) Select the SPORT drive mode.

(4) When either of the following conditions is met, check that the idling sound is output.

  • After the power switch is turned on (READY), with the shift lever in P or N, the accelerator pedal is depressed to start the engine.
  • The shift position is in D, S or R after starting off and the vehicle is driven at below 10 km/h (6 mph) when accelerating and at 9 km/h (6 mph) or less when decelerating.

HINT:

Check that the sound changes when the driving mode is changed from a mode other than ECO (non-operating condition), NORMAL (operating condition), or SPORT (operating condition).

(b) Idling sound inspection (CUSTOMIZE mode)

(1) Turn the power switch on (READY).

(2) Turn the vehicle sound switch on.

(3) Select the POWER customize mode using the multi-display assembly.

(4) When either of the following conditions is met, check that the idling sound is output.

  • After the power switch is turned on (READY), with the shift lever in P or N, the accelerator pedal is depressed to start the engine.

(c) Driving sound inspection (except CUSTOMIZE mode)

(1) Turn the power switch on (READY).

(2) Turn the vehicle sound switch on.

(3) Select the NORMAL or SPORT drive mode.

(4) Move the shift lever to D, S or R and drive the vehicle at 10 km/h (6 mph) or more. According to the driving conditions (vehicle speed, accelerator pedal opening angle, etc.), check that simulated driving sounds resembling transmission up shifts and down shifts can be heard.

HINT:

Check that the sound changes when the driving mode is changed from a mode other than ECO (non-operating condition), NORMAL (operating condition) or SPORT (operating condition).

(d) Driving sound inspection (CUSTOMIZE mode)

(1) Turn the power switch on (READY).

(2) Turn the vehicle sound switch on.

(3) Select the NORMAL or POWER customize mode using the multi-display assembly.

DESCRIPTION The door side airbag sensor LH or RH consists of a lateral deceleration sensor, etc. If the airbag ECU assembly receives signals from the lateral deceleration sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated. DTC B1690 or B1695 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the doo

Front Airbag Sensor Lost Communication (LH) (B1617,B1618)

DESCRIPTION The front airbag sensor LH circuit consists of the airbag ECU assembly and front airbag sensor LH. The front airbag sensor LH detects impacts to the vehicle and sends signals to the airbag ECU assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed. DTC B1617 or B1618 is stored when a mal
