PRECAUTION

HANDLING PRECAUTIONS

(a) For safety, when driving the vehicle, the driver should not operate a portable device that is charging.

(b) Anyone using an implanted pacemaker, biventricular pacing pulse generator, cardiac defibrillator or other medical electrical device should consult with their doctor before using the wireless charging system. Operation of the wireless charging system may affect the medical electrical device.

(c) In the cases below, there is a risk of burns, electrical shock and fire due to equipment generating heat, deforming or malfunctioning.

  • There is a clip, coin, or other metal object between the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly and the Qi-compatible device.
  • An aluminum sticker or other metallic object is attached to the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly.
  • The mobile wireless charger cradle assembly is covered with a cloth or other material.
  • A Qi-incompatible device is used.
  • Do not disassemble, modify or remove the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly.
  • Do not subject the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly to an impact.

(d) In the following cases, the Qi-compatible device is not charged, but this is not a malfunction.

  • The Qi-compatible device is fully or nearly fully charged.
  • There is a foreign object between the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly and the Qi-compatible device.
  • A Qi-incompatible case or accessory is attached to the Qi-compatible device.
  • The temperature of the Qi-compatible device is outside the usable range.
  • The Qi-compatible device is placed on the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly with the charging area of the device facing up.
  • The charging area of the Qi-compatible device is not correctly aligned with the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly.
  • The vehicle is in a location where strong electrical waves and noise are generated.
  • The Qi-compatible device is contacting or covered by a metallic object.
  • The smart access system with push-button start is detecting the position of the electrical key transmitter.

(e) When charging, bringing a magnetic card or magnetic storage medium close to the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly may clear any stored data. Also, bringing a wristwatch or other precision instrument close to the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly may cause it to malfunction.

(f) Do not use the wireless charging system when the hybrid control system is stopped, as doing so may cause the auxiliary battery to become depleted.
