REMOVAL
PROCEDURE
1. REMOVE NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX

3. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH

4. PRECAUTION
CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

NOTICE:
After the power switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
(a) Loosen the nut and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
6. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL

7. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
(a) Using a screwdriver, pull up and release the connector lock and disconnect the airbag connector.
HINT:
(b) Detach the 2 wire harness clamps and remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire.
CAUTION:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
(a) Remove the 2 screws. |

(b) Insert moulding remover B into the side of the airbag door facing the front of the vehicle and bend moulding remover B to detach the 3 hooks.
(c) Pull the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to detach the 3 hooks on the side of the airbag door facing the rear of the vehicle and remove the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.
