REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX

4. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:

Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

NOTICE:

After the power switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(a) Loosen the nut and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

6. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL

7. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

(a) Using a screwdriver, pull up and release the connector lock and disconnect the airbag connector.

HINT:

  • Use the same procedure to disconnect the airbag connector on the other side.
  • Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Detach the 2 wire harness clamps and remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire.

CAUTION:

When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

CAUTION:

When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

(a) Remove the 2 screws.

(b) Insert moulding remover B into the side of the airbag door facing the front of the vehicle and bend moulding remover B to detach the 3 hooks.

(c) Pull the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to detach the 3 hooks on the side of the airbag door facing the rear of the vehicle and remove the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.

DESCRIPTION The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) receives a back door open or closed signal from the back door courtesy light switch. WIRING DIAGRAM CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT NOTICE: Recognition code registration is necessary when replacing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM CHECK DLC3 (a) Check the DLC3. Click here INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE (a) Measure the auxiliary battery voltage with the power switch off. Standard voltage: 11 to 14 V If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery.
