INITIALIZATION

INITIALIZE (INITIAL POSITION MEMORIZATION)

NOTICE:

Perform initialization (initial position memorization) in the following situations.

  • When replacing the fold seat control ECU with a new one.
  • When canceling fold seat control ECU initialization (initial position reset).

HINT:

  • Initialization procedures can only be performed with the rear power seat switch. If the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly or No. 2 fold seat switch assembly is operated when initialization is incomplete, the buzzer continuously sounds.
  • When initialization is incomplete, the rear power seat can only be reclined by operating the rear power seat switch.

(a) When the fold switch of the rear power seat switch is pressed and held, a seatback fold operation is performed.

HINT:

Since an auto fold operation cannot be performed, press and hold the switch.

(b) Operate the seatback to the fold end position.

(c) When initialization completes, the buzzer sounds 2 times.

REINITIALIZATION (INITIAL POSITION RESET)

NOTICE:

Perform reinitialization (reset initial position) in the following situations.

  • The fold seat control ECU is replaced with another one.
  • The seatback is moved with the fold seat control ECU removed.
  • The seatback position is incorrect due to disassembly or replacement of the seat, etc.

(a) Reinitialization conditions:

  • Initialization complete.
  • Rear power seat switch, No. 1 fold seat switch assembly and No. 2 fold seat switch assembly not operated.
  • Vehicle stopped.

    Power Switch State

    Condition

    Power switch on (IG)

    Shift lever in P, stop light switch assembly on or parking brake switch assembly on

    Vehicle speed below 5 km/h (3.1 mph).

    Power switch off

    -

  • Back door is open.

(b) Reinitialization procedure:

(1) Press and hold the return switch of the No. 2 fold seat switch assembly.

(2) Within 10 seconds after operating the return switch of the No. 2 fold seat switch assembly, operate the fold switch of the rear power seat switch 5 times.

HINT:

Perform this operation while holding the return switch of the No. 2 fold seat switch assembly.

(3) When reinitialization completes, the buzzer sounds 3 times.
