INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT HEATER ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY
| *a | Component without harness connected (Heater Accessory Assembly (Heater Water Pump)) |
(a) Check the motor operation.
(1) Apply the positive (+) lead of the auxiliary battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1.
OK:

| Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 2 Auxiliary battery negative (-) → 1 | Heater accessory assembly operates smoothly |
NOTICE:
Complete this inspection within 10 seconds if there is no water in the heater water pump assembly.
If the result is not as specified, replace the heater accessory assembly (heater water pump).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1. INSPECT CYLINDER BLOCK FOR WARPAGE (a) Using a precision straightedge and feeler gauge, measure the warpage of the surface that contacts the cylinder head gasket. Maximum warpage: 0.05 mm (0.00197 in.) If the warpage is more than the maximum, replace the cylinder block.

PRECAUTION TROUBLESHOOTING PRECAUTIONS (a) When there is a malfunction with terminal contact points or a problem with the installation of a part, reconnecting the connectors or removal/installation of the suspected parts may return the system to the normal condition either completely or temporarily.
