USB Device Malfunction

When one of the conditions below is met:

  • A non mass-storage class or incompatible protocol USB device is connected
  • USB device with an incompatible file system, corrupted or incompatible File Allocation Table (FAT) is connected
  • "iPod" malfunction
  • "iPod" with unsupported firmware is connected
  • Unsupported "iPod" model is connected
  • USB device or "iPod"
  • Radio receiver assembly

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

When replacing the radio receiver assembly, always replace it with a new one.

If a radio receiver assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the following may occur:

  • A communication malfunction DTC may be stored.
  • The radio receiver assembly may not operate normally.

HINT:

Depending on the parts that are replaced during vehicle inspection or maintenance, performing initialization, registration or calibration may be needed. Refer to Precaution for Audio and Visual System.

PROCEDURE

1.

REPLACE USB DEVICE OR "iPod"

(a) Disconnect the USB device or "iPod" from the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

(b) Turn the power switch off.

HINT:

When this DTC has been stored, it is necessary to turn the power switch off to make it possible for the vehicle to recognize a new device when it is connected.

(c) Turn the power switch on (ACC).

(d) Connect a known good USB device or "iPod" to the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

HINT:

  • If the malfunction occurred when a USB device was in use, use another USB device for the inspection. If the malfunction occurred when an "iPod" was in use, use another "iPod" for the inspection.
  • Refer to System Description for compatible formats and versions.

CHECK DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs.
