Lexus NX: Data List / Active Test

DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST

DATA LIST

HINT:

Using the Techstream to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

NOTICE:

In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Chassis / Front Recognition Camera / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

Presence: Dynamic rear steering system presence

If a display different from vehicle specification is output, a forward recognition camera that was used with a different vehicle was installed, or the forward recognition camera may be malfunctioning.

Vehicle Information (Steering Wheel Position)

Vehicle information (steering wheel installation location) stored by forward recognition camera

Unknown, Left or Right

Steering wheel installation location

If a display different from vehicle specification is output, a forward recognition camera that was used with a different vehicle was installed, or the forward recognition camera may be malfunctioning.

HV Equipped Information

Vehicle information (engine) stored by forward recognition camera

Non-HV or HV

Non-HV: Gasoline Model

HV: HV Model

If a display different from vehicle specification is output, a forward recognition camera that was used with a different vehicle was installed, or the forward recognition camera may be malfunctioning.

Steering Vibrator Equipped Information

Whether steering vibration is installed or not

Absent or Present

Absence: Not installed

Presence: Installed

If a display different from vehicle specification is output, a forward recognition camera that was used with a different vehicle was installed, or the forward recognition camera may be malfunctioning.

Buzzer (Line) Equipped Information

Whether or not a buzzer is installed to the forward recognition camera connected by direct line

Absent or Present

Absence: Not installed

Presence: Installed

If a display different from vehicle specification is output, a forward recognition camera that was used with a different vehicle was installed, or the forward recognition camera may be malfunctioning.

Front Recognition Camera Low Temperature

Whether low temperature malfunction of forward recognition camera exists or not

Not High Temperature or High Temperature

Not Low Temperature: Approximately -30°C (-22°F) or higher

Low Temperature: Approximately -30°C (-22°F) or less

  • If this item is "Low Temperature", it will display that the camera is temporarily unavailable.
  • If this item is "Low Temperature", X2016 is output in the vehicle control history.

Front Recognition Camera High Temperature 1

Whether high temperature malfunction of forward recognition camera exists or not

Not High Temperature or High Temperature

Not High Temperature: Approximately 80°C (176°F) or less

High Temperature: Approximately 80°C (176°F) or higher

  • If this item is "High Temperature", the camera will be temporarily unavailable. If this does not improve even if the inside of the vehicle is left cooled for at least 10 minutes, the forward recognition camera may be malfunctioning.
  • If this item is "High Temperature", X2016 is output in the vehicle control history.

Front Recognition Camera High Temperature 2

Whether high temperature malfunction of forward recognition camera exists or not

Not High Temperature or High Temperature

Not High Temperature: Approximately 65°C (149°F) or less

High Temperature: Approximately 65°C (149°F) or higher

If this item is "High Temperature", the automatic high beam system or adaptive high beam system will be temporarily unavailable. If this does not improve even if the inside of the vehicle is left cooled for at least 10 minutes, the forward recognition camera may be malfunctioning.

HINT:

In summertime, the windshield glass may reach 100°C (212°F) or higher

Heater Available Information

Whether a hot-wire heater exists in the forward recognition camera or not

Absence or Presence

Absence: w/o Heater Wire Heater

Presence: w/ Heater Wire Heater

The forward recognition camera checks conductivity with the hot-wire heater. If this item is "Absence", a new forward recognition camera may have been installed with the hot-wire heater disconnected.

Heater Control Permit

The control permission status of the hot-wire heater in the forward recognition camera

Not Allow or Allow

Not Allow: Hot-wire heater control not permitted

Allow: Hot-wire heater control permitted

If this item is "Not Allow", the following statuses are likely.

  • The forward recognition camera has stored vehicle control history
  • The air conditioning system is malfunctioning
  • Communication between the forward recognition camera and air conditioning amplifier assembly is lost

Heater Control

The control status of the hot-wire heater in the forward recognition camera

Not Control or Under Control

Not Control: Hot-wire heater not controlled

Under Control: Hot-wire heater controlled

If the hot-wire heater control permission item is "Allow" and the outside temperature is 10°C (50°F) or less, this item will repeatedly switch between "Not Control" and "Under Control". (For vehicles with whole surface deicers, this item will remain "No Control" when the whole surface deicer is in use.)
