- Controls the damping force.
- When changed to diagnostic mode, indicates any malfunction by outputting DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
- Detects the rear body vertical acceleration.
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
(a) The absorber control ECU receives signals from the sensors and switches to control the absorber control actuator (shock absorber assembly). It uses these signals to optimally control the damping force in accordance with the driving conditions and road conditions.
Function of Components: Component | Function | |
---|---|---|
Shock absorber assembly | Absorber control actuator | Changes the damping force. |
Front acceleration sensor assembly LH | Detects the vertical acceleration of the left front area of the body. | |
Front acceleration sensor assembly RH | Detects the vertical acceleration of the right front area of the body. | |
Absorber control ECU (built into rear acceleration sensor) |
| |
Airbag ECU assembly (built into acceleration sensor) | Detects the vehicle's longitudinal and lateral acceleration and deceleration. | |
Steering sensor | Detects the steering direction and the angle of the steering wheel. | |
Brake booster with master cylinder assembly | Skid control ECU |
|
ECM |
| |
Hybrid vehicle control ECU | Sends the motive force signal to the absorber control ECU. | |
Integration control and panel assembly | Drive mode select switch | Switches the driving mode. |
Combination meter assembly | Multi-information display | Indicates the selected condition of the drive mode select switch. |
